A Message From Our CEO

Dear MACS Students and Families:

Welcome to MACS!  Whether you are brand new to our school or are a returning family, I look forward to working with you as we provide the highest quality public high school education in Philadelphia, just as we have done for our families since 1998!

At MACS, self-discipline is the foundation upon which greatness is built. Our strict behavioral standards, rigorous college-prep curriculum, superb instructional quality, and small, family-like culture make up the MACS secret formula and lead to great achievements for our students, as they have for so many of our students over the years.

These achievements continue to be routinely recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the School District of Philadelphia, as well as by other prominent outside organizations, including GreatPhillySchools.org, US News and World Report and Newsweek magazines.  

Each year, I am so proud to witness our students buy-into and embrace our non-nonsense approach and college-going culture.  Our students’ commitment to our rigorous academic expectations and college-prep curriculum lead to an average of $10 million in annual college scholarship offers for our graduating seniors.  Our students are continually defying the odds and outperforming our peer schools in the city because of their commitment to our formula and the tough-love approach of our staff.  Our focus on multiculturalism and the performing arts, as demonstrated by our robust music and drama programs, show that the MACS educational experience is exceptionally dynamic and well-rounded, as it fully prepares our students for the increasingly diverse and multicultural world in which we live.       

I encourage our students to take full advantage of the peaceful climate that the staff maintains for your benefit.  I hope you rise to the challenge and make good choices while you are a MACS student.  Success is there for the taking, but only if you want it as much as our staff wants it for you.
